Terms of service

These terms govern your use of SellBy, a date-tracking service for food businesses. By creating an account you agree to them.

Accounts and roles

Each subscription includes one manager place and five staff places for a single store, with additional places available as paid extras. You are responsible for keeping your store access codes secure and for the actions of the people you invite. You must not use the service to store unlawful content or to breach the access controls that isolate one store's data from another's.

Subscriptions and billing

The subscription is a monthly plan per store, comprising a base plan plus any optional extras you select, such as additional manager or staff places and the reporting module. All prices are shown to you before you confirm a purchase at checkout, and the price shown at checkout is the price that applies to your subscription. Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through our payment provider and can be cancelled at any time, ending billing at the close of the current period. We may change prices with reasonable notice, and changes never affect the period you have already paid for.

Using the service

SellBy helps you record deliveries, track date codes and manage stock actions, and reports are calculated from what you record. You remain responsible for your business's food safety compliance: the service is a record-keeping and decision-support tool, not a substitute for your own food safety procedures and judgement.

Availability and support

We aim to keep the service available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may suspend the service briefly for maintenance. If something goes wrong, contact us through the enquiry form on our home page.

Data and termination

Your business data belongs to you. You can export it from the service, and if you cancel, we will delete your associated data in line with our privacy policy. We may suspend accounts for non-payment or serious breach of these terms.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, SellBy is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profits or stock, arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms; continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated version.
